Elegantly rotting

I just booked flight and train tickets to 6 different countries this summer. Despite the fact I’ve skipped lectures to go to 4 different countries already since 2012. One country is even on a red alert warning but that’s not stopping me going alone. I’ve been so rebellious and ill behaved this year. This is what 10+ years of continual education, excessive caffeine consumption, reversed circadian rhythms, rush hour commutes and co-operate environments does to people. I can’t wait to graduate. That’s if I ever make it. I just want to live a simple life where I  people-watch and sketch pretty pictures of people walking by and read the books that I want to read, not meaningless textbooks. And own a botanical garden. Possibly a house by the sea with a vineyard. oH YeAh, aGaInSt ThE SySteM.

Charles Darwin : “Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge”. So this explains a trend I’ve noticed amongst people I don’t particularly consider to be exceptionally intelligent who constantly allude to how intelligent they are (and constantly criticize  how ‘unintelligent’ or uncultured the rest of the world apparently is in comparison to them). Ironically the truly intelligent and creative individuals I’ve met have almost always been modest and unaware of their abilities but most importantly, do not feel the need to impose their supposed intelligence on others. If you truly were intelligent as you claim to be, you wouldn’t feel the need to belittle others let alone constantly reinforce this identity through a medium as factitious as the interwebz. Because I know in ‘real life’ you crumble and flutter the moment anyone proves you wrong. There’s nothing wrong with being wrong but there’s something wrong with being arrogant and self righteous. Passive aggressive rant over, Friday night relaxation begins.
